Dear LSES Families,

Welcome back to Lithia Springs Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year! My educational belief is that it takes a village to educate a child. We must all work together to motivate and cultivate our young learners’ desires to strive for excellence in every walk of life. Our teachers and staff strive to create a family atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to get involved in the learning process. I look forward to meeting all of you, and I am enthusiastic about building relationships with our Lion Cubs! 

Over the summer, our PRIDE leadership team met to update our school improvement plan for the upcoming school year. As we reviewed our data and progress, we noticed that we have a lot to celebrate; we met and exceeded goals throughout the building! Our teachers worked hard to set high expectations in the classroom with engaging and rigorous lessons, and our students were eager to learn and grow. Therefore, our 2023-24 theme is “Level Up!” We will help our students level up in reading, math and science by setting Goals that Accelerate, Motivate and Encourage Success! We’ll also level up with student attendance and school celebrations!

There are many ways that families can connect to our learning community. We have scheduled parent engagement activities throughout the year to give you opportunities to participate in your child's learning experience. We also have Parent Advisory Committee meetings scheduled to give you an opportunity to provide suggestions on how LSES can grow and develop. Newsletters are sent home monthly, and you can provide additional feedback using our Satchel Pulse parent survey links. Also, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher if you are interested in being a room parent.

I am celebrating my 4th year as principal of LSES, and this is my 23rd year in education. I have been a resident of Douglas County for the past 13 years, and I share my life with my adoring husband, 3 amazing daughters and a lovable Bishon puppy named Kali. 

At Lithia Springs Elementary, our motto is, “We have P.R.I.D.E in our stride!” Our faculty and staff are committed to taking Personal Responsibility In Developing Excellence in our students. Our students will have P.R.I.D.E in being Prepared, Respectful, showing Integrity, being Disciplined and Engaged. 

I have an open door policy, so I welcome parents and community members to stop in and see what we are doing!

Estimadas familias de LSES,

¡Bienvenido de nuevo a la Escuela Primaria Lithia Springs para el año escolar 2023-24! Mi creencia educativa es que se necesita un pueblo para educar a un niño. Todos debemos trabajar juntos para motivar y cultivar los deseos de nuestros jóvenes estudiantes de luchar por la excelencia en todos los ámbitos de la vida. Nuestros maestros y personal se esfuerzan por crear un ambiente familiar en el que se anime a todos a participar en el proceso de aprendizaje. ¡Espero conocerlos a todos y estoy entusiasmado por construir relaciones con nuestros Cachorros de León!

Durante el verano, nuestro equipo de liderazgo PRIDE se reunió para actualizar nuestro plan de mejoramiento escolar para el próximo año escolar. Mientras revisamos nuestros datos y progreso, notamos que tenemos mucho que celebrar; cumplimos y superamos las metas en todo el edificio! Nuestros maestros trabajaron arduamente para establecer altas expectativas en el salón de clases a través de lecciones interesantes y rigurosas, y nuestros estudiantes estaban ansiosos por aprender y crecer. Por lo tanto, nuestro tema para 2023-24 es "¡Level Up!" ¡Ayudaremos a nuestros estudiantes a subir de nivel en lectura, matemáticas y ciencias al establecer metas que aceleren, motiven y fomenten el éxito! ¡También subiremos de nivel con la asistencia de los estudiantes y las celebraciones escolares!

Hay muchas maneras en que las familias pueden conectarse con nuestra comunidad de aprendizaje. Hemos programado actividades de participación de los padres durante todo el año para darle oportunidades para participar en la experiencia de aprendizaje de su hijo. También tenemos reuniones del Comité Asesor de Padres programadas para darle la oportunidad de brindar sugerencias sobre cómo LSES puede crecer y desarrollarse. Los boletines se envían a casa mensualmente, y puede proporcionar comentarios adicionales utilizando nuestros enlaces de encuesta para padres Satchel Pulse. Además, comuníquese con el maestro de salón de clases de su hijo si está interesado en ser un padre de salón.

Estoy celebrando mi cuarto año como directora de LSES y este es mi vigésimo tercer año en educación. He sido residente del condado de Douglas durante los últimos 13 años y comparto mi vida con mi adorado esposo, 3 hijas increíbles y un adorable cachorro Bishon llamado Kali.
