Option for Digital Learning - 2nd Nine Weeks

OPTION FOR DIGITAL LEARNING - 2ND NINE WEEKS
Posted on 09/23/2020

Dear LSES Parents and Guardians,
Our transition to in-person learning for those students who wanted to return to the classroom has gone very smoothly. Words cannot express how deeply I appreciate the support of our students and parents. Almost without exception, students have followed our safety guidelines and have cooperated with a host of new procedures.

Our students who opted to keep learning from home have been patient as our teachers have learned to juggle teaching online and in person at the same time. We appreciate your flexibility. Our teachers and other staff members have done an amazing job during this transition. We could not be successful without the support of everyone.

As we approach the end of the first nine weeks, we need to know the learning preference for your child for the second nine-week period, which begins October 8th.

Please go to the link below to let us know if your child will learn from home through School-Based Digital Learning (SBDL) or will learn in person at school no later than Thursday, October 1st. Please note that students enrolled in FLEX Academy will continue in FLEX for the entire school year.

It is vital that we know your preference by October 1st. After the 2nd nine weeks, you will have another opportunity to change your method of learning for the 3rd nine-week period, which begins January 6, 2021.

In addition, we anticipate adding in-person learning for our Traditional Learners on Fridays beginning the week of October 12. Fall break is October 12th and 13th, and October 16th will be our first day for students to be back in the building on a Friday. SBDL students will continue to participate online from home Monday through Friday.

Thank you again for your support as we do school in a new and different way. My hope is that we all learn and grow from this experience and pick up new skills that will benefit us long past COVID-19.

Sincerely,
