Splash into summer reading by participating in the Douglas County Schools Summer Reading Challenge! Students who read and log 500 minutes between June 15 and July 31 will earn a special reward from their media specialist when school begins in August.
Students in K-8 who attended Douglas County Schools last year will log their reading into a new reading platform called Beanstack that's available in Classlink OR by clicking on the Douglas County Summer Reading Challenge page linked below and following the Classlink directions.
If you are new to Douglas County Schools or in grades 9 - 12, you can log your minutes manually and submit the log to your teacher or media specialist when you begin school in August. You can also sign up for Beanstack through the public library at wgrls.org/beanstack/ . Your Beanstack account with the public library can be merged with your school Beanstack account in the fall.
Good luck and happy reading!

Today, 21st century summer camp scholars went to the Atlanta Zoo. They had a fantastic time learning about animals and seeing them in their different habitats. They also got a chance to cool off in the zoo's splash pad.

Summer is the perfect time for students to dive into a great book! The Douglas County School System and the West Georgia Regional Library System have teamed up to provide students with P.L.A.Y.
